After a day’s recovery the new season is upon us, with Pascal Lannoye leading the sprint team tomorrow and a whole host of other well suited races to the FFL team later in the week. The new season is one which FFL hopes will see them regain top spot, a feat that looks a lot more realistic than it did 2 weeks ago when Team Atlantic had a lead of circa 1000pts.
Season 10 review
FFL have ended their season with their highest ever end of season tally and thanks to the new features of late they can also confirm that this was there best ever season with a total of 23 results, although the win count of 6 was shy of the team’s best dating back to a very successful season 6 that included 4 tour stage victories and the Essex GC title. Season 10 was also a season of breakthrough’s; most notably Sterling Dorsher but a first victory for Hector Gill must also be noted, a rider trained for breakaway manager James M hopes his stats will enable more breakaway podiums this season adding an extra dimension to the team
Transfer news
Recent signing Sieuwerd Bouwens made a great start to life at FFL. Deprived of a win in his first race by a lone breakaway he still featured on the 2nd step of the podium and was a very useful team mate for Nico Holt in the WC RR yesterday. Hopefully Sieuwerd Bouwens will continue to be a great addition this year starting by captaining the Roubaix cobble races early season.
Transfer talks were also reported for Sebastian Quander earlier this week, however the deal fell through late on, but all parties are believed to be fine with the outcome with FFL’s main focus remaining on saving cash for the 5* bikes
Interest has been high for Nico Holt, whom is for sale. Several offers valued at over 300k have been presented to FFL management, ranging up to a sum of around 340k. FFL continue to suggest they are looking toward an offer of 375k to release the worlds highest Average rider and hope that his top 5 for a 2nd consecutive year in the WC RR reinforces his quality and earning power to the other teams in the Peloton. Nico is also said to be keen to move sooner rather than later frustrated by the fact he is once again only a team mate for this weeks climb up Alpe d’Huez
